The Vortex Lite model is presented as a shooting bow designed for kids, however, this can also be used by adults. Barnett Vortex Lite Review [year]

The Good

Great for Young Archers

Because the deciding factor when using a bow is not age, but body size, this model is ideal for the size of a child between 10 and 14 years old. It’s important to take into account that, if the person has an above-average height, or even if their arms are longer than the average, it’s likely that this is not the most suitable bow for them.

Easy to Adjust

The Barnett Vortex Lite is easy to assemble so long as you have the instructions at hand. It is simple to assemble and calibrate effectively, so you can take it out and start shooting right away.

Thanks to the design of this model, it is possible to adjust it in different ways without any effort. By having pre-drilled mounting holes, adding an archery reel is a possibility, which together with its shooting power, can penetrate the water and allow you to fish with it without any problems.

Inexpensive

One of the most attractive factors of the Barnett Vortex Lite is undoubtedly its price. It is a bow that offers surprising features for a price range below one hundred dollars. Usually, the bows that have similar characteristics are around upwards of two hundred dollars.

And it’s not only that it has such a low price, but the quality you get for your money. The Vortex Lite is a great option for parents whose kids want to give archery a try.

Decent String

The quality of the Barnett Vortex Lite’s bowstring makes it an exceptional bow for target practice. Getting to hit a shot of up to 60 yards makes it excellent for practice in open fields. Thanks to its small size, this compact compound bow is still great for beginners even though it packs a punch.

When used properly, its bowstring and design working together are capable of propelling an arrow at speeds in excess of 200 feet per second. This may not seem like a surprising speed for a bow, however, we cannot forget that this is only a practice bow for young archers that, thanks to this power, is capable of being used in hunting small animals in a satisfactory way.

Legit Compound Bow Under $100

This is a bow with the design of a compound bow for adults, only in a reduced size. It has a power and quality that transcends any first thought of a “cheap bow”. Its construction is a mixture of materials such as aluminum and fiberglass that offer, besides a very good build quality, a professional and attractive appearance.

This model can easily compete with bows that can be found for even twice the price. It has its flaws, but these are very light, easy, and inexpensive to fix

The Bad

No Peep Sight

There are few downsides to the Vortex Lite, but the lack of a peep sight is a pretty big one. This is a piece that can help to secure the objectives, and, being this a bow aimed mostly to be used in practice, it’s somewhat illogical that a peep sight is not available. Especially since it is marketed as a bow for young archers. The design of its drive system makes it a somewhat complicated and tedious task to add a peep sight ourselves. Without a doubt one of the major spoilers of this compound bow.

Built with Cheap Parts

The parts the Barnett Vortex Lite is built with are not the best on the market. The quality they present is standard and it’s best not to force them too much. This is a compound bow that exceptionally serves for casual practices and little else unless we want to risk forcing and damaging any of its parts. However, thanks to the way it is constructed, it maintains a strong and stable design.

The accessories that are included in the package are not the best either. They fulfill their objective and nothing more. If we want higher-quality accessories, the best option is to buy them separately.

Weak Shot

Despite having a strong shot for a bow of its size, the Vortex Lite does not compare in power to other bows on the market. It fulfills its function as a bow for young beginners or a simple practice bow but a little more of it in terms of the power of its shot.

However, its power can still be somewhat high for some users, especially since it is a bow aimed at children of approximately 11 and 13 years old, so it’s advisable to add a stabilizer to reduce vibrations.

Vortex Lite Review [year] | The Bottom line

The Barnett Vortex Lite presents us with a powerful and lightweight compound bow. Thanks to its construction, which despite not using the best materials on the market, is phenomenally maintained, this bow will accompany its user for a long time.

This is undoubtedly a great option for young archers or bowhunters. It has become one of the models to choose from both for young people who are looking to try out this great hobby. It is also a great model for bow fishing thanks to its comfortable and compact size.

The Barnett Vortex Lite isn’t the best bow on the market, but at this price, it’s one of the best compound bows for kids. We highly recommend you check it out.
